991 GT3 Production Delay...Anyone Else???

As above, I was told by my Porsche dealer that my car was due to be built early September with an end of September delivery, ive now been told there has been a delay in production until end of October build and November delivery??????

Anyone else been told the same or is my Porsche dealer blagging me???

Because of the comments on the US forums, I asked the same question on the main GT3 thread - yet to have an answer.....

It seems that no-one is prepared to reveal the cause of the delay....

I was told last week that mine is scheduled to be built in week 48 which is the week starting the 25th November.
I was told Oct/Nov originally at beginning of this year when I laid down deposit but only verbally so seems about right to me...

Maybe they have redesigned the centre locks again... ?

I am still awaiting the official response to the letter that I sent 3 months ago about those on the 997. All I have is a letter telling me that there will be a response but no indication as to when it will be.........

Spoke to my supplying dealer today, he tells me still not one GT3 built for worldwide production, my car showing on the system for a Oct build but all cars still on hold, parts supply problem apparently??

Anyone else with the same story???

Someone said on another thread, that some have been built, but have been effectively parked, due to a potential reliability issue? Was it APOLO?

Ive heard that Andreas has had a bit if personal crisis and has realised that automatic gearboxes are for his mother and her friends. Some of them have dicky hips and trouble coordinating these days.

He is apparently currently working with a few select fitters in the 'Development Room' trying to get the 997 box to fit the 9A1.

Its also rumoured that there is a storage room housing circa 300 of the final mezger engines that he has been seen in a few times....
