Ferrari 599 or DBS
Discussion
Hi All
I am after four and a half years ownership considering changing my 2008 4.3 Roadster.
Initially was looking at a V12 Vantage or a 2011 DBS . However after looking at a 2009 Ferrari 599 and after reading all the reviews and the fact it seems to have taken most of its depreciation off its original £230 K price seems a bargain.
Do I need my head testing ?
I love my Aston will I live to regret it ?
Wait till I will the lottery and have both.
What do you reckon ?

Yes point taken on the warranty there however is a major problem with the Aston Martin Warranty.
Which is run by an independent company.
I think we can all agree nothing seems to be covered.
Certainly in my experience and after reading plenty of posts on here nothing's covered unless you are prepared to stand your ground and even then it's not a certainty you will get any joy.

The extended AM warranties are provided by a third party and I had quite a bit done under warranty. They were quite good at agreeing to work, especially when the dealer was providing the evidence that it needed to be done.
It doesn't cost AM or the dealer anything to have work done under the extended warranties, and it is in their interest to ensure work gets approved. Agreed some things are not covered, such as bubbling paint, but then I think that is for AM to pay for or contribute rather than the extended warranty company as the corrosion warranty remains with AM for a good few years after the three year new car warranty expires.

Sorted I just cant leave the Brand,
Next decision I have, buy a V12 Vantage and keep my V8 Roadster (worth about45K)
or trade roadster in and get a DBS Volante (Like the MAKO Blue one at Tom Hartleys)
Real hard Decision as I have had my roadster since it had 700 miles on now as 14500 and I have done all the upgrades I wanted Sills, rear lights, Sportspack wheels, titanium nuts,Front and rear carbon fibre splitters. would be a big wrench to see it go !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Or wait till a V12 Vantage roadster comes up around the 125K mark.

Would two roadsters not be too similar? A V12V or manual DBS would compliment the softtop maybe..

I have the same dilemma .......I would love to upgrade to a DBS but the 599 is probably the best Ferrari made in the past 15 years and they are such good value. By all accounts they are super reliable and don't require all those silly super expensive cam belt changes .....I think you should buy one and get it out of your system......if you buy it in Novemebr you could sell it for the same money the following May ......they seem to drop 5-8 k in the winterI am after four and a half years ownership considering changing my 2008 4.3 Roadster.

As for George and his daft comments about them being ugly ......ignore him
Buy the 599 and get it out your system

Some on the Autotrader around 85k
Ferrari dealers are more but are offering a 2 year warranty.
Couple of points, servicing every 6200 miles or 12 months
The car is wider than I expected 87 inches wide a lot of the reviews do say its a big car weighs around 2 ton which I suppose makes its performance figures even more amazing,
Also been informed best to dive it in snow mode for the first month to get used to the power. This car will bite you if you are not carefull .

Ugly ? On dangerous ground here George.
Having seen some of the the birds you pull.
The Ferrari is ugly. It's got a big stupid grinning face like a Peugeot. It's also too big imo. Having seen some of the the birds you pull.

And if you've seen some of my ex girlfriends you would say I'd been doing very well for myself
