Just after some advice, my 2008 M5 with 33,000 miles has a really irritating seat creak on the drivers side. I'm not talking plastic against rubber creak, I'm talking creaking floorboard type creak on every corner.
The dealer tried lubricating when in for a service but it made no difference, they need to do a full seat strip. Of course they told me its not something the Mondial warranty would cover as it would be a "wear and tear" thing.
Really? After 33,000 miles its ok for a seat to creak loudly? Surely not fit for purpose.

Anyone had any joy with this type of thing? Should I take it up with BMW uk or the warranty people or am I wasting my time?

Thanks in advance.

Howdy, I had this exact same issue with mine. I bought a can of PTFE spray from Halfords and removed the back of my seat and sprayed all the springs at the back and under neat the seat thoroughly. This fixed this very annoying issue.

Please note not to use grease as this is a heated seat and the grease may drip onto the carpet and also may soil the leather.

Regards,
Rory.

Thanks people, dealer has promised to look at it with the oil service but has warned me that the warranty won't cover "squeaks and rattles".
I can see a battle coming up.
Is it easy to remove the seat back and access the mechanism?
