I've been using Microsoft Money now for absolutely ages but I want to upgrade my laptop and it's not up to date enough.

What do you use to download statements from online banking etc into? Any good, cheap, user friendly products that accept downloads?

Thanks.

I still use MS Money 2000 and love it to bits. I did try GNUCash for a while but found it pretty unfriendly.

Money's main rival was Quicken which is still around so may be worth ago. I haven't used it myself though.

Keep in mind there is Virtual PC (or whatever it's called now) and VMWare, so, licenses permitting, you could run a 'virtual' copy of XP and load MS Money on that. Only thing I'm not sure about is how you'd backup the data, though you can usually share a directory on the main hard drive and present that as a virtual drive inside the guest.

I use the free "twilight" edition of Money on my Win7 PC - does it not run on Win 8?

Me too. I was a long time Money 2004 user and moved to 2005 recently via here:

Runs ok on Win 7 64 bit - and faster than my old version.
