As I am no stranger to many of you off the forum, you'll know that one of my oldest friends lives in York and I head down there once every six weeks or so.

However, I usually M74, M8, A66, A1, A59 it there and back in the same day, its about 3hrs30 from Glasgow. However, it was clear from the flora and fauna in York that in actual fact it was a good day, and it was not that in Glasgow.

After a hearty lunch, my facebook followers know what it was, we aimed for the Yorkshire Museum and I could not be prized away from my Nikon

The museum isn't actually a bad way of spending the afternoon and I loosed off a couple of frames

And after a hearty dinner I awaited the bus for the park and ride, parking in York is dear, the PandR a mere £2.20.

It was clear from this light and weather plus my iPhone weather app, that it would be rude to head to Glasgow, and what I really needed was a night in the car to get a sunrise at Whitby

The east coast can be good for sunsets, but as I was driving and not Martin, I missed this and parked up in a laybe well off the road near Sleights, and kipped.

Sunrise the next day...

What I really like about the C estate is whilst its a tad uncomfortable (actually very) when you are out in the rural roads its completely at home. I met a bus on the narrow way down to Robin Hoods bay and There was room for him and I and I barely had to slow, in a large car I'd be sharply inhaling air.

Which comes onto my next point, some car porn

Its amazing how dainty and small this 911 is compared to the newer cars, and whilst in a smash I wouldn't fancy my chances, on little rural roads this car must be epic.

Actually, it must have been a "bring out your old car" day as I stopped to take this and a precision of old series II etc landrovers came past.

I then thought what you really wanted to see was my ugly mug

I drove back to Glasgow like my good self, not like Martin and attained this
