iPhone 5 cradle/mount/dock

Hi you lot,

I've got three things that don't go all that well together:
1) an iPhone 5 with TomTom app
2) a cigarette lighter charger for the phone
3) a 996.1 GT3 (with no vertical centre console-y thing that comes down to meet the horizontal centre console - I can't use one of these style mounts, for example:

I've spent what felt like a reasonable amount of time trying to find a product (or guidance for welding snot to string) that would let me keep the phone's screen visible while I'm driving. It's been wedged sideways between the front-most cushion and the side of the bucket until now, and I reckon it's time for an upgrade

Anyone got any tips? Happy to pay for something. It doesn't need to do anything other than hold it somewhere sensible. No need for music, no need for power etc.

Brodit phone holders, I purchased from Amazon. Choose your phone and choose your car and buy the two parts and screw together when they arrive. I've one in my Cayenne and its the best phone holder I've had, but the most expensive as well.

Thanks for the help, guys - good tips. I forgot to add that I wasn't after another window-sticky one like the old TomTom iPhone cradle I was using until now.

Brodit don't do a car mount for anything other than the lower console section that my car doesn't have, so I have to mix Swedish (Brodit) and Connoisseur Products (Norwegian) bits, as well as provide my own four screws (the Brodit ones won't work apparently). But my Frankenmount should work once it's all arrived.

Will update with a pic of how tidy I manage to get it.

GarageQueen - love the TomTom iPhone app. It could do with a good re-work in terms of user experience issues, but once up and running it serves me well. So well that all of Europe and North America's roads are belong to us now! A good chunk of change to have both apps (and some enormous app updates occasionally - they're 2GBish each), but nice to be able to get around so easily when we're travelling.

Yeah, I loved the look of those (Matt at Fearnsport suggested them too) but didn't want to:
- stick something on the back of my phone
- stick my phone into a case that already has that something stuck on the back of it.

It was absolutely perfect until I saw that, too. Glad it's working well for you, though. Preeeeeety solution.
