TPM / no TPM

Hello,

My summer wheels on my cayenne have Tyre pressure monitoring. If I buy a winter set without TPM does it just give an error in the TPM display or is there anything else I should be aware of?

I currently have a non-TPM set of wheels on my 997.1 C4S (while my alloys are being refurbed) and the TPM simply shows '--' for each wheel.
