Help me with my diet
Discussion
Morning,
I have recently just started the gym, trying to exercise more loose weight, become more fitter
The one thing i am struggling on is my diet, i like to be organized and know what im going to eat, so my plan is to set a diet plan up on what i should eat for my 3 meals a day,
Im cutting out junk food, and snacks in between meals, and also eating late at night.
Can anyone help me out with my diet plan?

I am 16stone at the moment, aiming to get to about 13stone
My usual day of eating is as follows
Never eat breakfest always skip
Dinner - 2 buttys with usually some kind of butty meat with mayo, sausage roll and 2 chocolate bars
Tea - Chips with chicken and sweetcorn
Late night eating changes but is mostly sweets and chocolate

Eat the junk fo... oh, I'll leave it to the others.
Junk food WORKS. I have to spend a fair bit of time sitting around skate parks with my kids and can confirm that teenage nutrition consists of chips, cakes, crisps and sweets washed down with litre bottles of high sugar fizz. The annoying little sods are as skinny as racing snakes and, with the odd exception, have clear complexions.
I have begun modifying my diet in light of what I've learned but clearly need to increase my intake because at the moment I am not seeing the slimming effects of the diet.
Well that's an easy one!
Butties, mayo, sausage rolls, chocolate bars, chocolate bars and sweetcorn are pretty much all rubbish.
Can't account for your personal tastes but aim to eat more fresh meat, vegetables and fruit with less starch, carbs and processed food.
I find eating out a deadloss and generally make my own stuff at home.

Breakfast is optional, but if you choose to try to avoid typical cereals as they often contain far more sugar and salt than is necessary. Cooked breakfasts are great. My usual day of eating is as follows

Sandwiches can be okay but not the best.
Try to eat real food, not prepared or from a packet. Get more familiar with the fruit and veg aisles at the supermarket and the fresh meat and fish sections too.
I find it easier to cook up a day or two's worth at a time. Then I can just pop each meal into a tupperware or something for work or reheat at home.
It's surprising how much real food you can eat compared to the calorie dense, nutrient poor prepared foods you've become used to.

1) Take all of ^that^ food and throw it away.My usual day of eating is as follows

2) Never skip breakfast.
3) Bowl of porridge for breakfast (or, if you've got time, scrambled eggs on toast - you can add in salmon, jalapenos etc.)
4) Lunch - large chicken or tuna salad. If you've got a physically demanding job and access to a microwave then maybe have chicken etc. with some microwave rice?
5) Dinner - good quality meat or fish (aim for a fist-sized portion) together with double that amount of veg (i.e. two fist-sized of veg, one of which should be green veg such as spinach and broccoli)
6) Tea/coffee is fine but reduce the amount of sugar you have and try to avoid caffeine late at night.
7) Avoid sugary drinks and have sugar-free squash or water - lots of it.
8) Be consistent.
9) Keep being consistent!
Good luck!
As you've seen, opinions are like a
holes!
My minimum contention tuppence would be:
1. Sugary and/or alcoholic drinks are Satan in food form. None of them, including fruit juice.
2. Solid sugar and white flour are second worst. That's breakfast cereals, jam sandwiches, cakes, biscuits, chocolates, and sweets off the menu too.
3. Other than that eat what you like, preferably meat/fish/eggs with green vegetables.
I've a roast chicken for lunch. All of her, probably.
Bon appetit.

Problem is that some opinions are just plain wrong. I mean if I said you should do a juice fast once a week, you can eat strawberries because they burn more calories to digest than they have and you should avoid eating carbs after 6pm, then I should be shouted at until I seeked help for my eating disorder.

The only time I have dieted, I lost 12kgs (I only weighed 82kg to start with but had got fat in the last year of university so had to get rid of the 12kg fat I had put on) in 6 weeks doing this which is a diet that I mostly made up:
Breakfast: Small bowl of porridge with some honey or brown sugar
Elevenses: Apple/piece of fruit
Lunch: Chicken or tuna, with tomatoes, red onions, cucumber. 3 rice cakes.
Dinner: Steamed salmon/chicken with steamed vegetables and brown rice/pasta.
Drinks: 3l water per day
Exercise: Pull-ups, push ups and 2 x 2km fast runs per week. I put the pull-up bar in the kitchen door frame so every time I went in there I had to do a set. Did 50 push ups as soon as I woke up. Forced myself to do the running as I hate it.
I looked the best I have ever done but it took some dedication to the diet. I didn't eat bread for 6 weeks, I still went out drinking which probably didn't help.

Every little helps! But in all seriousness I've been training pretty hard for about 6 months now and have gained a lot of muscle. Problem is it's now enforcing a cut upon me because the fat hasn't got anywhere to hide and it's sitting on the surface making me look wobbly. I look like Vladimir Putin.
