Becker GPS into 993
Discussion
Speed sensor is deffo needed, without it the GPS guidance will be very sluggish.
There is usually a speed pulse in the factory loom behind the standard head unit and nany decent fitter will know where it is.
In my car I just placed the GPS antennae on the dash at the base of the A pillar, but it will work as well on the rear shelf if you prefer.

I fitted a becker pro to my 996 and put the GPS receiver in the alarm mount on top of the dash. Don't know if the 993 has the same alarm mount!! Fortunately the speed signal was provided in the standard connector. However, I did not connect up the direction signal and it makes no difference. (I think that this is only used for dead rekoning calculations if the GPS signal is lost).
