right, so apologies for yet another what car thread. I fear the time has come to sell my 323i, its starting to develop some issues and I fancy a different car.
Firstly I have a company car, so all driving would be in my personal time, I do enjoy a good long drive, and after the bmw I do like the comfort and the brand 'snobbery factor' shall we say lol

ideally im after something with a bit of luxury and comfort, fairly pokey, and looks good, anything that returns around 30mpg or better would be nice. I'm more after a comfortable ride than a sporty hot hatch kinda driver.

Im 22yrs old with 2 years ncb if that helps.

looking to spend roughly £1500, as like I said I only drive in my spare time, and have plenty of people on hand in my family who drive new cars, classic cars and 4x4s.

so all your suggestions would be great

E38? Struggle on the >30mpg unless you drive gently but you've got comfort, magnificent looks and (if your neighbours are mugs) relatively good snob value.

Might get into an early 330i E46 for that, but if you think your car has issues then a £1500 330i probably isn't for you!

MR2 Turbo would be fun, but might not be your sort of thing?

22, only drive in spare time. Wants something comfy. Not sure I'm fully getting it tbh.

Anyhow, 30mpg might be less likely, but how about a Lexus Soarer? Choice of 2.5 six, 2.5TT and V8.

basically I drive for a living too, but I have company vehicles for that. so I only do a very small amount of driving outside of work but I always volunteer myself as the driver for day trips and evenings (I don't drink btw) i'm not really into driving like a tt, I like to cruise and have comfort, so the mpg is a bonus but not a must. I just enjoy driving in relative comfort.

good shout with the lexus, for some crazy reason im drawn to the old rover 75s and I really really really don't know why, obviously ive been hit hard to with parts and servicing on beemer too, but I knew that when I purchased it.

Ford Cougar 2.5 would be my car of choice and £1500 will get you a real nice low mileage example with heated leather and all the toys including a quick clear screen.

Mpg aside I suspect the Fiat would be quite entertaining for the money assuming it's description has some resemblance to the truth.

As for the Ford Cougar suggestion...........Hmm - Not driven one myself or looking to do so, but I was a little surprised see that recommendation.

i must admit I do have a little soft spot for those fiats, especially in yellow. As for the cougar its not really my cup of tea to be honest.

As above, for low mileage 5mpg doesn't really make that much difference.

im viewing a few of those jags in the coming week, by far my top choice, I wanted one before the bmw, one question they seem very long, or is that just an illusion because its lower?
