S3C Pipercross Air Filter

The front section of my filter came off today I now need a replacement however before ordering can someone advise the following : I found a u-shaped flat bar inside the the filter I assume to retain the the shape can someone confirm there is only one or have I lost one in transit.

JJB,

Yes there is only one in the filter. Your will find that if you replace like for like, the new piper cross will come with the mesh "U" in it.

That's why JJB's description didn't sound quite right, mine also has a "U bracket made from mesh.

Long time ago since I replaced mine but got a feeling something was missing, possibly the quarter turn screw?

MotorsportWorld was about the cheapest place when I got mine a few weeks ago.

If you still have the oil breather pipe on connected to your filter, you will need to remove the connecting elbow joint and fit this to the new filter, or use this opportunity to fit a breather tank of breather filter.

Managed to get a new filter direct from Pipercross part No.C.3004 as given by Phillpot
price £38-39 postage free for month of Sept. Thanks again.
