I have been thinking about buying a S1 Elise for some time and went to my local Lotus Dealer to have a look at one on their forecourt. Whilst the driving position was excellent for me as I am about 5' 10" but on the downside my Wife who is a short arse at only 5' 2" tall could only see through between the instruments and wheel and could in no way reach the pedals. Even with a boster cushion which was approximately 2" thick she could see better but couldn't put the clutch fully down.

Does anyone know of anyone of a similar height who drives a S1 or is there a way around the problem because otherwise I will be looking for an alternative car.

Yeah - don't let her drive it!
I saw a program a while back where the seats were replaced with orthopaedic ones in an Elise so I guess anything's possible.

IIRC, apparently the runners can be reversed to give a couple of inches extra. (Just what the lady ordered?)

I am about 5'4" and can only just get the clutch right down with pretty much a straight leg. The advantage is i can get in and out really easily!

6" cushion

Seriously, you can't not get one because the missus can't see over the wheel! What did you try, regular seats or a 111s (or special edition) with the more padded seats?

Go on!
