How hard can it be..........................

Sold my 997 C4S in July and have been searching for a decent Gen II (2009 onwards) 987 Boxster S (or Cayman even) ever since. Spec preferred (but obviously flexible);

PSAM
Heated seats
Carrera Sport or Sport Design wheels
sub 40k mileage
Not - Red or white (and probable yellow)

Budget circa £23k

Prices were not suprisingly mental during our pleasant summer and have taken a pleasing downward turn over the last 4 weeks or so.....but still there seems to be very little on the market at the moment.

I'm doing my very best to be patient and not search through Pistonheads, Autotrader, E-bay, Boxa-net, 911UK, PCGB Forum more than 3 times a day.......also all the usual specialists, RSJ, 911Virgin, JZM etc etc.

Am I missing something, being too picky etc?? Should I just keep on looking? The scooter to the station is less fun now the rain has returned......I've even found myself looking at Lotus's

I agree.

Having just bought a 2009 Cayman S, I can safely say that you're looking at nearer £33k than £23k for one with low mileage and a decent spec.

I think you're budget is just not quite there for a gen II car and that's the only problem. If you can put another few thousand on top of the £23k then I think you'll have your pick of a few cars

My budget of £23k is just that a budget.......a good starting point. You're expecting too much for your money is always the easy route, but I'm not talking list price (please tell me you don't all pay list) and not OPC prices either (there are other places to buy you know ;o)).

I did say Boxster too by the way, would turn my nose up at a Cayman, but really looking for a Boxster.

Something that tightens the throttle map and relinquishes the reign on the PSM is hardly a 'trinket', especially if you take the car on track.

Apologies if I've come across that way......just having a bit of fun really . It is a tad frustrating though when everyone wades in with their size nines about your budget....I had similar a couple of years back on here when I bought my 997......someone even called me a dreamer......well I bought one in the end and had a great 2 years in it .

Patience isn't my greatest virtue I suppose and having a chat on a forum or two I hope(d) might flush out a few potential sellers, cars I'd not seen or dealers I hadn't heard of that's all. I didn't really expect to be beaten up over my budget .

As for the Cayman comment, I only added that as a last thought in case something popped up....I'd certainly consider one but it isn't what I'm looking for really. (from what I've seen Gen II's are hitting the £27-28k mark....list price anyway).

Now hear's a lovely spec'd car for a change.....just wish it was 2009.

As with any second hand car I think you'll have to compromise on Sspec otherwise you'll be waiting for ever, the brown and blue Boxters you linked to look great, why not have a look at those?
