Light switches

Hi, can anyone tell me how the light switches are attached to the rear of the dash? I attempted to switch the lights on driving through a tunnel and the switches just moved backwards, not all the way off but enough to make it difficult to use them.

There's a metal plate that's glued or screwed to the dash facia from the rear, the light switch pushes through this and tangs on the switch body hold it in place to this plate

What handy practical tips, I have saved the link! Pete

If you are working on the dash take a tip from me and get a hot glue gun.
With a couple of dabs you can 'tack' dials and switches in place which can be undone. Then when you've got everything where you want it you can glue things in solid with Araldite a supplemented with liberal tacks of hot glue and its solid as a rock.

OK, thanks. Does a hot glue gun work better than a low temperature gun?
