Any M135i owners gone from a Mk2 Focus RS to the M135i, good move? bad move?

Cracking deals at the moment available, worth a go?

I went from an RS to a 1M, great move!
I agree there are some good deals out there, give one a test drive and see.

I'd say it would be a decision made with the head, if you did change.

I love the RS Focus though and am really not a fan of the M135i. As its been said drive it and find out.

Saw one in white yesterday, looked great and sounded even better! Real performance bargains imho.

Hi
Early days but initial thoughts
I went from a Focus RS to M135i and have been surprised at the pace of the M135i; it does feel punchy and quick in sport/plus
Also prefer the seating position in the M135i I always felt I was sitting on rather than in the RS

Was that a standard RS? Mines the MR375 version so would be comparable performance.

Slightyly off topic I know but I'd be interested in your thoughts of the RS after running for how long? I really fancy one having missed out on the whole cosworth/fast ford/hot hatch thing as a kid.

As mentioned above how did you get on with the seating position, does seem very high when I've sat in a couple.

Cheers

Strange how much quicker an M135i is than an RS - similarish bhp and weight yet one is only just sub 6s to 60, the othet has been regularly timed at mid 4s. And 14 to 100 for an RS, some M135is have even dipped below 11.

Had mine for fours years and still great fun to drive. The seating position is high compared to other hatches, but is something you get used to. Torque from the MR375 version is really strong, off the line the RS maybe not be the quickest but the in gear times soon make up for that 50-70 in 4th 2.5s or use 5th and its 3.2s.

Surely that's the FWD disadvantage coming into play? from a roll I'm sure the gap would be a lot smaller. Also isn't a known fact most 135i's leave the factory with higher bhp than specified?

I encountered a Mk2 RS Focus when I had my old Z4M. Z4M absolutley destroyed it would be the only way to describe the encounter.

I surely would have thought the moving from the Focus to the M135i would be a night and day improvement in performance.
