Why can't people judge the width of their car?

On the way home from work today, urban road, parked cars on one side (ours), a stream of traffic coming the other way. I'm number 3 in a line of vehicles. Vehicle 1 gets through OK, but vehicle 2 has to stop as it is (presumably) too wide to get through, so we have to wait until the oncoming traffic has passed.

Vehicle 1? A Transit. Vehicle 2? A fking Ka!

Jesus!

Bear in mind that people often buy a small car because they are s**t at driving and gauging the width of their cars. These people also manage to fail to park their massive car in a single space......

Same for most urban drivers trying to get an average sized car through width restrictors. It will clearly fit, the restrictors aren't going to be so narrow that it won't (unless you've a big van or a Hummer) yet they panic and stop due to a probable high level of ineptitude that worries me. Unlike the scenario described above, they aren't moving either so easy to judge!

Try living in rural, coastal Cornwall when the hordes of half wits come down in their Discos and RRs. It can make be quite angry.

As a woman she's been lied to about what 10" actually looks like by men since the age of shaggage.

Even worse are the ones that want to turn right off a main road and make no effort to move to the right of their lane, thus blocking everyone else from passing on the left irked
