Been out and about in my old barge today.

You can keep the modern stuff. I've got Bluetooth, Streaming and cruise... Felt far more comfortable and more relaxing than the previous 2013 Auto Mondeo - and more economical to boot.

Couple more pics for references....

I clicked on this expecting to see a classic in use... We obviously interpret "modern" differently!

Looks a nice car though. I used to have a CD player on my list of essentials for a car, but now it's been supplanted by Bluetooth.

An old 'E' though (and a 145k miler).

I thought there would be more support for newer cars.

I took my little Quantum out today in the rain. It's based on a 1986 Mk2 Fiesta, and has the engine from an RS Turbo in it with a slight chip and fuel upgrade. On 13 inch wheels with P6000 tyres it was wheelspinning fairly controllably in the first three forward gears. I couldnt get my S Type to do that frown

Oh, both have bluetooth too!

As soon as I seen the digital display I knew we were on different wavelengths. That's a modern car.

Very nice though.

What engine?

Light leather, wood and gold colour not to my taste but it looks comfy.

Our BM is starting to feel a bit old now (2006); brown leather, no wood but quite comfy.

320 Cdi - Straight 6 3.2. Older than yours at 2002.

My basic requirements are Bluetooth with navigation and streaming:

And to be surrounded by comfy leather:

Similarish engine then. Probably a little more modern though.

I remember being the only one at work "allowed" to drive the bosses new E300CDI in 1999; it was a decent motor.

Very nice E-Klasse Touring, while not new I would still call this is a modern car though.

Managed to get one of these stuck on a flat snow
covered field numerous times on winter tyres, couldn't cope with the automatic, 4cyl diesel and rear wheel drive combo in snow.

This is how I am approaching the same topic

I am restoring a 71' Fiat 500 because I'm tired of fixing random faults on my 12 year 'old' Passat TDI. Love the simplicity and lack of anything really.
Will be my short distance town car once finished. My 500 Lusso
has tilted seats and those weird chrome towel holders, what extravagance

There is less wiring in the Fiat than in one single hadlight of the Passat.

I love an immaculate old barge that has shed over 90 percent of its original purchase price. However much money I might spend on a two seater toy, I will always have a bargain barge of some description. smile
