Account compromised somehow

In the above thread someone managed to post as me, apparently inadvertently. How is this able to happen?

I just changed my password in case, and was then asked to verify my email address before posting, despite having posted a number of times previously.

Any idea what is going on?

Take that as no idea then! Just to check, is there a way my account can be used to post ads or similar using whatever issue caused this?
