Classic is 30 years - Audi TT or Alfa GTV??

As the title states, what has more collector classic potential in say 30 years a Mk 1 Audi TT or a Alfa GTV Cup ??
The GTV is 1 of 500 made making it a rarer beast, one of the last true V6 engined cars
or
The TT a leap in styleing, maybe not a standard 1.8T but maybe an early 3.2Lt

I'm considering sourcing a lowish miler and running it from time to time and keeping it forever, something for my grandson (as and when as only 34 now) can cherish in years to come.

I would say Alfa, they seem popular with collectors.

But really how long is a piece of string? Back in the day could anyone have predicted the value of VW campers?

With classic cars the best thing is to buy the one you like and enjoy, that way value is immaterial.

Are you going to be able to get spares for the Alfa in 30years?

TT may be the more robust option.

It's such a shame that the Cup was merely a badge/tat exercise. TT will never be a classic, simply too many made.

I'd imagine the Alfa will be worth more simply because it's so much rarer.

Definitely the Alfa. Sharp styling, great engine, just the right amount of quirkiness :-)

The fact spares will be an issue in the future puts it straight into classic territory.
If you go by previous 80's alfas and audis I reckon the Alfa will be a classic quicker initially but the Audi will catch up.
Cars don't usually become full blown classics until their numbers dwindle, Well, mainstream cars, which they both are.
I always thought the 100s would have been a huge classic but they really took their time inflating.
Probably a good investment now.

Alfa no doubt. The Busso engine is one of the all time greats and the GTV Cup is arguably the best looking car it's been in.

Perhaps a TT rag top with the boxing glove interior would be the best option, though I can think of plenty of other cars that would be a better bet. Eg Boxter.

In 30 years time they'll be museum pieces judging by the way current legislation is heading and I shall be 94 so probably not in a fit state to care - lucky me.

Don't think it was as high as 500. Pretty sure it's more like 150 or 155 all in red with a plaque on dash saying what no. cup it is.

Cannot believe this question has been asked.

They don't make an Alfa GTV anymore, they still make and will continue to make TT's in newer versions. Good Mk1 TT's (Sport) will hold value, but there are so many with big miles that it would need to be exceptional. The TT is a landmark car though. The GTV with the Cup pack and that engine is pretty timeless.
