I have an alpine dab+ unit with cd & Bluetooth for my iPod which is pretty good. Radio reception is still a bit iffy though

Have you put extra speakers in the front and if you did where put them, the only place I can think of is in the foot well, did you not get an Ariel upgrade

I consider doing this every now and again, particularly as a previous owner spent a large amount of money on installing focal component speakers, but the original headunit remains - maybe it was taken out on sale of the car. However, given the amount of noise in the cabin I just don't see the point!

I have bought the Alpine IDE-178BT, and am very pleased with it......

Well worth a look, and good value for money.

Hi Ant

Took your advise and put the Apline unit in and it is very good, phone works a treat too, simple to play the tunes on my iphone by Bluetooth saves having CDs great stuff, just got to work out the TUNEIT app on my Iphone

Thanks for the advise and Halfords have it on special offer £40 cheaper than I could find anywhere

Had hertz speakers put in 2 it the doors and 2 where the old rear ones was, I can definitely hear the it now, I,am like a mobile disco

I have front speakers in the Tam I just bought - I had forgotten that they only had the two rears as standard:

Where abouts are the rear ones in the Tam, i would assume in the back shelf

The problem with the T350 the rear ones are in the back panel so when you fill up the boot with bags etc they get muffled and awful

I have had 2 put in the door card just below the armrest they just fit and 2 the same place as the original ones but they are higher spec and sound better

They're on the rear vertical bulkhead at the rear of the seats in the Tam.

As mentioned, this is where they are in the Tamora (I assume these are the standard positions). Might be better than the T350, but not good. Loud exhaust doesn't help.

Having the roof down doesn't help either- the rear screen covers them too

Has anyone added an external antenna? Something like a shark fin or small sticky up one on the roof? It would be nice to have some radio reception now and then.

IIRC some Tuscan MK2s have one?

I had a DAB radio put in our MG Trophy and the aerial is attached to the inside of the windscreen and works very well with excellent reception.

having said that, the MG has its engine at the back, and I remember the Road Angel in my Tam going mad when I accelerated, assuming it must be electrical interference..

I will try the windscreen aerial again when it comes to changing the unit on my new Tam.
