wasn't expecting that at all!

Nikon 1 series, with their CX size sensor... but they've managed to make the whole thing good for 15 m underwater and be able to deal with drops from 2m. Pretty impressive IMO and will easily muller the current crop of popular water-proof compacts, many of which use the compromised folded lens design.

Will be interesting to see how this performs underwater.

If you wanted to change lenses underwater you could take a washing-up bowl down and use it inverted for an airpocket

All very well, but speaking personally the last time I checked I wasn't waterproof down to 15m. Nor do I perform so well when being dropped 2m.....
