Saw one in the metal for the first time at my local Mercedes dealer. It was parked beside a body kitted A class diesel and the diesel looked better (in my humble opinion). AMG in white, diesel in blue.
The A45 fully specced is £50k if the mags are to be believed and all evidence on here and other forums suggests that no discounts are available?
Is £50k not deep into c63 territory ?
Why would anyone choose the A45?

This is not a troll, I am genuinely perplexed .

Anyone who sees my profile will see a bit of a BMW M leaning, but I am not trying to stir, I had a C36 AMG back in the day and loved it and will replace the M5 with a C63 or E63 when the time comes.

Fuel economy, 4 wheel drive, compact and modern, residually probably a better bet than c63's (as c63's were for the first couple of years after launch) Road tax etc etc. C63 is a superb car which I love but the A45 is also fantastic and they will sell all they make.

C63 is also at the end of its run ( or close to it ). A45 is a brand new model, from what I understand dealers are not having any problems getting rid of them.

£50k is possible but thats fully loaded, not sure how much a fully loaded C63 is, but I'd guess at quite a bit more than £50k?

A Class is now a "premium product". It's priced as a Mercedes, but in a smaller form factor. So basically you can buy whichever spec you want of C or A class and you'd pay the same price across the models.

We have an A250 AMG coming, and I thought it was eye-wateringly expensive. But the price matched the wife's demand, so the deal was done. There was not much of a discount off it - about a grand - but they did give us a very fair price against the outgoing C4 Picasso.

Look at it not as an expensive A class but as a cheap AMG....

It is a new model and hardly even out on the streets yet, so just give it 12 months and good deals will be out there for the taking, just like with the C63, E63 etc

A45 was last on CAR magazine's Performance Car of the Year, 2013.

It scored NO points.

E63?

Not for a new one, they have a 9 month waiting list!

Well I should clarify that, you will get a discount but no more than any other new model Merc!
