Right my 430 has the puniest solid disc brakes on the rear and the smallest of the lot on the front. I know what I'm doing with the fronts but want to swap the rears for the 273mm 500 set up, but there's not too much info on which parts are needed? Believe you need to change the hubs? And are the calipers and discs Ford items that I can get from the local parts supplier?

I think Daz upgrade his rears to the later 500 spec, and he sourced some hubs from somewhere .....he might be able to help.

Hubs are Granada 2.9i 2.9i 24V Cosworth and Escort 2.0i Cosworth & last of the Sierra Sapphire Cosworth if the donor car from this era as the 273mm ventilated rear discs then they are the hubs wink the ears are exactly 10mm longer to accommodate the 20mm larger disc (let you work that out) and Daz should have the breaker as I give it to him, I cant remember whistle renew the bearings while your at it (same type you got fitted already) cool you also need the calipers off the cars listed obviously wink I did this conversion about 5 years ago with all NOS genuine Ford parts (except the SH hubs) discs, calipers, bolts, bearings for less than £300

Got the hubs from a Cosworth breaker in Lincolnshire for £30 and new OE callipers from fleabay .

Do not fit cheap bearings ,mine lasted 6 months before quality one`s were fitted ,it`s a worth while upgrade ..

Combined with the Cosworth front 887 888`s it has very good brakes . Can handle track days ,

I`m a slow learner laugh hansdaal sells both kits

You can sell the old hubs, callipers and discs if they are any good .It`s a bolt on upgrade from drum to disc on the TVR S.

I can't find the kit on there now. I know they did one for the Escort Cosworth. You need very powerful front brakes before the big rears are necessary!
