Because of course in the 21st century the only way to detect another aircraft is to eyeball it. This isn't 1910.

Presumably their 50 year old radar isn't particularly good at spotting stealth fighters. In any case, the Raptor pilot got close enough to count the missiles on the bottom of the F-4s. That's seriously poor observation skills.

I very much doubt the F-22 pilot flew behind and then underneath either of the F-4's.

The combined output of soot and unburnt fuel from four J-79's would've choked the F-22 pilot half to death and clogged the sensors into blindness and engine inlets to the point of stalling

Is this true? Iranian air defence radar picks up the drone or the drone and F22s and vectors the F4s to intercept them. It's then unable to warn the F4s that two F22s are also there and the four crew in the F4s spot the drone but not the two F22s escorting it?
