Hi everyone,
Here we go then.
I have only managed to drive my T350 for just under 1,500 miles in just over a year and am starting to wonder what to do as we are also looking to spend some 3 months a year (winter) in Spain from next year onwards!

I am not using this thread to sell the car before anyone gets on that particular issue as I have already had an offer from the dealer who sold me the car.

I know I will bloody regret selling it and I know that I'm not finding the time to use it properly. I'm not sure that I want to store the car for at least 3- 5 months a year as I don't think it would be good for the car.
So would you just take the hit and sell or keep the old girl (the car not the wife)?
Cheers

Do you need the money? If not then keep it. Mine does a similar mileage now, I may sell in a few years time but lack of use to this level does not persuade me to sell it.

As for leaving it for a few months, as long as the tyres are pumped up extra hard and it is kept undercover then it should be fine. Ideally have someone roll it back and fore to stop the brakes siezing up.

Why not take it to spain with you. Buy a cover for it if it isn't garaged over there.

I'm sure you would enjoy driving it in spain.

You would not need to sell, and you would be getting some use out of the car.

Take it with you! I'm just back from a 2 week trip round Spain. We left the South coast on Thursday morning, easy 2 day drive up to Santander then get the ferry back. Some fantastic roads and places to see off the main tourist routes.

Was told by a mechanic friend of mine , stops the friction and pressure plate and fly wheel sticking together , especially if its in damp conditions , I had the same thing happen on my griff some years ago , the car was stood quite a while .
I think this would mean the hydraulics are permanently under pressure. Better to have someone press the pedal a few times once a fortnight.

Try to spend at least 6 months a year in Spain instead, and move the car over there. Well, that's my plan at least. smile

Please, take it from me, you will regret it. If money isn't so much of an issue, keep it, I know...

I have a dessicant dehumidifer in my garage which keeps the moisture at a minimum. Leave wheels chocked and handbrake off to stop brakes seizing. The way I think of it is that if I sold it the money would get eaten up somehow. And there is nothing as exciting or as special for the same money anywhere. Chances are that prices will only go up and you'll regret it.

Ideal scenario. Each time you go to Spain drive it out there! Expensive way to travel but what a way to get there and get use of car whilst your out there.

Just my opinion.

Well you guys as so right about what you get for the money and no money is not an issue for selling this time anyway lol!
I was looking to buy a 3.4s Cayman that I could take over there as it should be easier to get looked after etc.
Having a couple of test drives this week.
Hi Sasha - so you are the mystery "buyer" from Vienna who has been mailing me.
It's funny because I know of at least two T350's and a Cerb that have recently gone over to close to your part of the world (Switzerland).
Cheers

Had the test drives - err - no!
Funny thing I went for a test in one that was genuinely mint from a dealer.
Only the window closure micro switch was broke and mine works perfik lol!!
