Hi guys, sorry if this has been mentioned before but i did try and search.
I got done by a scamera last month and these 3 points will put me over 12 points.
Well what im thinking of doing is, my brother lives in france so send the nip back with his address on it and the french name of the previous house owner.
Ive told him what im going to do so he will be on the look out for it.
Is it true that the english police dont chase foreign nationals!!

Thanks for your help.

Only thing that springs to mind is whether you can prove the "other" driver was insured to be at the wheel?

...and prove the driver was in the U.K. at the time of the offence! They WILL ask for proof and even if you can provide it you may have to go to court and state on oath that it's the truth. Possible "perverting the course of justice" charge. You have to have BIG balls to go through with it. Good luck!

Not particularly wise to disclose your cunning plan on the board that is contributed to by serving officers and quite probably read by many more....

Which you do not have to provide. Your obligations are to provide name of driver.

It may work......it may well not.

As BPB states the obligation on you as the RK is to name a driver.

Don't know the policy adopted by SCP where Johnny Foreigner is nominated with address outside UK but I suspect they have one as this will have been tried repeatedly. There is provision in RTA"s to chase you as vehicle owner/RK to prove that the use by JF was covered by Insurance which probably is not the case in your scenario Timbo so points could be coming from this if they are successful.

Further if they get the whiff this is a try on then big trouble as stated above.

If your not a very, very ,very good poker player then suggest you have a word with a Solicitor who can put you forward as extreme hardship case to beat the ban or use Jones v Chief Constable of West Mercia Police Authority 2000 to get a much shorter than 6 months totting ban.
