I met Tiff yesterday at a 5th Gear shoot. Nice bloke to be honest, he was testing some old uber barges against a new one for an upcoming article on 5th Gear. He had a Volvo 850R, Subaru Legacy Spec B and bog standard (ie. original DRC intact etc) C5 RS6.
Can't wait to see it, expecting the RS6 to not only trump the old competition but give whatever new fast estate they are testing it against a real run for its money.
Good work again by Ramp and Rench in Cov.
Lots of great stories from Tiff and an interesting chat about how Catherham are dubious and Atoms are incredible....

Be interested to hear why he thinks this, given Caterham's long-running success with their car

Looks like that might be in the offices at Anglesey, am I right?

{entirely feasible for another circuit to have similar walls, furniture and carpet though I'm sure hehe )

Saw him having some bait in Harrods a few years ago , fancied a quick craic on with him but just didn't seem the right time or place .

Me too, he did a segment in 5th gear when he compared the 'best road-legal trackday cars' and there was a conspicuous lack of Caterham.

I'm guessing he'll criticise Caterhams for being front engined and therefore more prone to pushing on into fast corners etc.

Stayed in a caravan once in the middle of Thruxton airfield/track, was woken up at 8.30 two days in a row with him tearing around in an M3. Wonderful wake up call smile

I met him at Thruxton. We ended up chatting more about surveying and construction than cars... his story about how he messed up a small section of a motorway is worth a listen. biggrin

Ultimately, lovely bloke. Would share a pint with.

Would you each get a straw or would you take it in turns?

Two straws each. That's when you know it's getting serious!

Past e21 owner so a man of good taste. Took me for a few hot laps of Brands last year. Awesome car control and a genuinely nice bloke. Funniest moment was when we busted him selling copies of his book for a tenner, out the boot of his car. hehe
