Hi guys, need somewhere near derby, Nottingham who can clean up my under bonnet. When you lift the bonnet up, the underside lets everything down. I have no idea how to do this as I assume it would be a right mess to do yourself.
Cheers.

Any truck valet company. Or have it steam cleaned at you're backstreet truck repairers but it will have to come off. But watch the likes off truck wash cleaning fluid as it may fad you're paint if not washed off well. Good luck

Is it beyond a decent pressure washing with some degreaser?

Some pics/better idea of the challenge would be useful.

Not far away if you want a hand with it.

I had the inside of the bonnet sanded and (brush)painted silver (looks good and reflects heat) lower part (around headlamps) is black for cosmetic reasons (vanity......)

Bonnet frame to be had from DG (good occasion to train ur fibre-glassing skills)

Your 'bonnet-stay' (or rope as it is usually called........) has been replaced on mine with an adapted trailer safety cable, an eyelet on the bonnet frame to an ring/eyelet on top of the front crossmember, obviously to lenght as to not allow the bonnet/bumpers to touch.

Mine has a vinyl cover glued to the inside of the bonnet. Can't recall seeing another one with one. Might be an easier solution than fibreglassing!

Drop me a PM if you want to have a look at it - only in Wilford.

Best to do off the car if you can remove without to much bother I have quick release bonnet and electrics so make regular detailing much easier once off a good clean with some de greasing cleaner and hot soapy water then a sand down a little if its a bit rough then paint either spray or brush I used a thinned down black gloss Hammerite then maybe a square of heat shield trimmed and glued with heat resistant Glue above the engine more as a dressing as other cars that don't have anything don't seem to suffer with problems including yours by the look

To do what you asked for you need to ask for the bonnet to be sanded flat and a layer of tissue added. As others have suggested though I would go down the route of adding a lining, preferably fire resistant.
