2013 Cayman S - Which Wheels..

Hi guys

Hopefully you can all help me..

I've ordered a 2013 Cayman S and am undecided as to which wheels to have. I have opted for the careers S wheels at the moment in platinum however am unsure if black would look better.

Some say the black look smaller.. Harder to maintain and are a bit out of date.

Any suggestions? The car is going to be white..

The benefit of going satin is that I can get them done black after for minimal cost.. The other way might be a bit more costly.

Also does anyone have a clip of the sports exhaust on these..

Thanks for the replies.

Those wheels look the best with Agate.. I've just sold my boxster s which had them to Porsche MayFair. It's was Agate too. I think with White they don't look as good as with a dark colour.

What do like the look of on your own car?

Asking for general thoughts will just throw up their own personal preferences. Some absolutely hate black wheels, others love them.

Just spec it with what you want.

There's only one wheel I would consider for the 981 Cayman if I was ordering new and it's this option

If you look on the thread re Pics of 981 Cayman there are several cars in while with platinum wheels.
I have that colour combination and as personal choice thinks it looks good, as a side issue the wheels are easy to keep clean too.

Hi there, on my white 981 cayman I regrettably have the 19" boxster S wheel and if I had a choice in the matter I would have gone for a 20" Carrera Classic. You have to admit, they look sickkk on a white cayman?

I definitely can't complain about the drive on a set of 19's however aesthetically the 20" just looks better IMO.
PS: apart from test drives, I haven't owned a car with 20" wheels but everyone I have spoken to assures me that 19" wheels offer a better driving experience, especially on non-smooth and sometimes bumpy tarred roads (typical in Johannesburg) does anyone else agree?

+1 from me, look great and hide the brake dust really well, until you run your finger over them ...

Thanks for all the help. I've had the spec locked with Satin platinum as I thought I could always get then done black after if I don't like.

However I think black makes them look too small.
