I have been checking out Nobles for a while now, half hoping they would depreciate, half hoping they would stay the same.

So i can see the 2.5's 3.0's and the R's all between 25 and 30k. Why are all 3 priced so close together? i had through the 3R was a better can than the 2.5?

I suppose, is it not better than the 3.0 too, which is odd, as i can see 3.0's being more expensive than the 3R's

Am i missing something?

So tell me a story! Is the 3R the one to buy!

All things being equal, the 3R should attract a £1k-£2k premium over a 3 IMHO.
Both then should be a fair bit dearer than a (standard)2.5.

However it will also depend on what mods have been done, and whose selling (dealer etc).
There's a list of standard mods which unlike some other cars, you should expect to pay a premium for.
The 2.5 has some necessary mods, which if they have not been done, you should budget to do during your ownership.

The 3R is a more modern looking car due to the front lights and will have the 6spd gearbox although these are just as prone to breaking as the 5 spd if the power has been upgraded. 3R also carries a bit of extra weight over the GT03.
As Gadge says, whether you are looking at 2.5, 3 or 3R make sure it has a TDS and LSD. If you go for the 2.5, there are more things to be aware of especially the ECU.
All derivatives offer huge choice to upgrade and there are a few GT03s out there now with c.600 horses.

Nope....the 5 speeder is fine with an LSD and track sump is a must if tracking the car, I'd prefer one with the sump but I think it's around a grand to retrofit.

Hey

I recently purchased an M12 with was original a "3"
It then had the 3R gear box and LSD upgrade to make it the "3R"
then it had the "M400" conversion to up the spec once again.

Honestly the very best experience and drive I've ever had and I can't recommend it enough
I test drove a 2.5 which I enjoyed until it broke down on the test drive! Also got warned away from them.
I test drove a 3.0 with a standard 5 speed box and glad I went with the 6 speed.
Personally buy the most highly spec'ed one you afford and ensure the works been done by JetStream or Noble Motorsport smile

Thanks for the replies....

Its a car im seriously considering! i wanted one a good few years ago and now its in the realm of affordablity.

The only things that are also coming into the picture are M3 CSL's and GT3's.

I've got a 2.5 with MBE ECU and 5 speed and is fine with a LSD.
Even if it's the baby noble it's still an excellent car thumbup
Had no problems in two years appart from having to change the battery.
IMHO you only need a track sump if you plan on tracking the car.
