Mmmm, mate came round in his V8 Vantage, after spending 3 hours washing every line of the car, iron x, clay, we took it out for a spin...not as mental or fast but definitely a presence! I'm thinking..... tongue out

Agreed I keep looking at the V8V. No where near as fast as a Tiv but IMO one of the best looking cars ever made. They sound epic as well.

I might be wrong but I believe the maintenance costs are quite expensive. There are figures being banded around such as 3k for a new clutch eek

I thought you were going to buy my Sag and scratch that itch first Steve, although if you do go down the Aston route at least I won't have to park mine round the back at your next meet wink

Go to an independant and you are looking around 2k so only a few hundred more than the TVR then, from my investigations it seems the the V8 Vantage is around 15% more for maintenance than the Sag if you shop around so not too silly really.

The perfect answer to the issues over performance is, of course, the V12 Vantage. smile

Agreed but your maintenance costs go up with the performance

I know, but I think it would be worth the sacrifice, the V12 is one of the all time greats. Talking of V8s though, the 4.7 is a significant step up from the 4.3 and is the car that many say the V8 should have been from day one. Seeking a Vantage out with Bamford Rose goodies is also a good move if possible.

Speak to Colin about a good place to maintain Astons. Nice cheaper place in Bishops.

Do it smile Servicing is cheaper than a Sag if you use an independant, and they don't break down all the time costing thousands in maintenance every year. In the two years I have had my Aston its cost me nothing unlike the sag which eats clutches, engine mounts, wheel bearings, diff seals etc etc

Nothing wrong with getting an Aston they are a nice car. However, they seem a bit common these days - so many of them about. Personally, I prefer something that is a little unique on the road, but again, it's your money, your choice.

If it is an itch you have to scratch then scratch it tongue out

you could always get one and modify it Alex, then it would still be a little unique.

Yeah, I could, but I'm not really that interested in AM tbh.

I like the look of One77, but apart from the GT fronts, they all look at bit same-old-same-old to me.

Ah well as they say each to their own, to me the Vantage is best of both worlds, comfy GT car and quick enough when I want some fun and looks great to boot.

Very good looking cars but I think you'd be surprised how reasonable servicing costs of any performance car are compared with TVR's.

They all look the same to me. I would get one but it would have to be a V12, V8 seems very mundane.
