Our old family bus is getting on a bit and needs replaced.
SWMBO would like a very economical (50mpg)7 seater where the 2 rear seats fold into the boot when not needed. Ideally we do not want a full size MPV as it has to fit on the tiny drive we have
She is not bothered about handing or the badge. The budget is £7,000.
Suggestions please

I'd go with a Cayenne. Obviously it's outside budget and I think it's only got four seats, but apart from that it's job done.

Edit, it won't do 50mpg either but I still think the suggestion is sound.

Jimbo.

Any 7 seater is going to be a fair size, even the "5+2" type.

Does it have to 7 seats?

Mazda5 is worth a look, but in reality is only 6 seats, with a 7th occasional seat in the centre of row 2

Sliding doors are great, especially in smaller parking spaces

Not sure if it quite hits 50mpg but IIRC a VW Touran is the shortest 7 seater with folding rear seats & there are plenty for your budget.

I'm not sure i would class it as very economical but maybe someone on here who owns one can let you know what the fuel economy is like?
