944 wiring faults

Hi all

I am hoping one of you can come up with an answer to a fault I have. The wipers, electric windows, interior fan / blower are working intermittently. I had the windows working very, very briefly yesterday, and the wipers, fan and windows worked for around a minute on Friday whilst I was driving down the road.

Any tips, clues, or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

For the sake of a couple of quid, I'd replace all the fuses to start with. More people might be able to help if you could tell us which model of 944 it is?

Check out whether they share the same relay, if they do, replace it, or check that it is seated properly. Sounds like something minor, or perhaps a poor connection. I doubt fuses because when a fuse blows it's a goner. Yet perhaps, again it may not be seated properly.

If you are stuck for a relay - or just want to fix it for nowt - most relays can be opened up, and cleaning the contacts, filing/sanding, usually sorts them out for at least as long as they have already been in the vehicle.

TIPEC certainly isnt better, although Jon Mitchells contributions on TIPEC can be very helpful.

With regards to the OPs question: re-earth. Whenever you have manifold electrical problems on a 944 then you need to check all of the earth points.
