Over all the years you have been driving, how many miles do you think you have driven in total?

I've been driving for 27 years & average about 15k miles a year.

So 400+ thousand miles.

Actually thinking about this, my wife covers about 12 k a year& I put half those miles on her car each year so I probably have done around 20k a year for the last 12 years.

In my own cars, about 140k in eleven years.

In rental cars, probably 10k.

In shared cars, probably another 45k or so.

So just under 200k in 17 years.

Me too, retired. Worked it out to roughly 3.5 - 4 million. (Since test in '57.)

I've driven 30k a year minimum for the last 19 years, + 3 years at uni where mileage was reduced so circa 600,000 miles.

Insurance companies annoy me - I suspect they load due to my mileage, but do not take into account that my 5 years no claims = 150,000 miles compared to say the other-half where 5 years = 40,000 miles.

It is quite scary how quickly they add up... I am just glad I am not like my old neighbour - 40k plus per year...

God knows. I've always had jobs that have involved driving, I used to regularly do 50k in a year, although it's less than that now.

Just think how much fuel you will have used!! Even more upsetting, how much tax and vat you have coughed up?

And the cheeky taxman never even sends a christamas card with 'Thanks for your valued custom' on..

3 years around 30 miles/day, call it 35k miles
22 years around 80/work day, call it 23k year overall = 506k
5 years around 20/day, call it 60k

Overall about 600k.

as far as I can tell, 760,000 miles. In flying terms (hours rather than distance), about 15,000 hours.

Around 50k miles p/a for the last 13 years, so 650,000 miles or so.

In many thousands of cars.

500,000 over past 10 years, perhaps 200,000 in the 15 years before that so about 750k in 25 years.

Interesting question!
About 125k in my own cars since passing my test c. 10 years ago.
Probably another 5k in jobs with driving involved.
Rentals/borrowed cars probably another 3k.

About 132k then.
Sadly I've done the majority in a Micra, a Matiz, a 206 Diesel and a Honda Jazz (nearly 100k over a decade) - that is depressing!
