991 C2s or 997 GT3
Discussion
Got my eye back in the Porsche stable, had a 2008 997 T last year and then a M3 V8 this year, have to say RWD provides so much fun that I can't see me in anything but a RWD car now...
I have it down to either a GT3 or a 991 C2S, the later seems to be a great car from what I've been reading. On paper it is a match, infact its quicker than a 997.2 GT3 and it is more useable. Whilst 4 seats isnt a must it would be handy to take my wife and daughters out too
I obviously understand the GT3 is a more track orientated car, and I have got a track day or two in mind but is the 991 C2S worth a look its newer and with some small mods could it be better??
I do like the PDK option too, I just prefer the aggressive styling of the GT3...

From my experience the 997GT3 still feels beautifully 'analogue', so best as a car to savour occasionally, when the drive and circumstances suit.
The 991 is more 'digital'. Less special, but probably better suited for everyday use. WRT the 991, I thought the C4 was nicer than the C2.

The only reserve there is I found the 997 T a bit, well boring. Sure it was fast, and had lots of mechanical grip, amazing grip really. But when you wanted to just have a bit of a blast, oversteer was only available right at the limit! Where as the M3 DCT Ive been using, well its just on tap when ever you want and so controllable.
How do the 991 C4's compare to the 997 T, will they oversteer without having to fully commit?!
Rather sad to be choosing a car on those merits I know, I just prefer that feeling of being able to drift the rear end rather than it all being safely planted in place!

I had a lengthy use of a 997 Gen 2 Turbo S earlier this year, and thought it was epic. Certainly more fun than the Gen 1. On the Turbos the 4wd is necessary to deliver the immense performance to the road.
The 991 C4S felt quite different. Power is more linear and sounds a lot better (PSE). But it also feels more like a 2wd. There is a display that shows the drive being transmitted to the rear or front depending on conditions. Often it's 90%:10% rear to front. The main advantage is that the steering feels a bit weightier, a bit more connected, although that may be to do with other factors. C4 has a wider body and therefore, I'd imagine, wider track than a C2.
