My Bamford Rose Experience
Discussion
The other day, I arranged to go to Bamford Rose to have a run-of-the-mill bit of work done on my V8V. The supposed need for it had been pointed out by another AM independent which had recently serviced the car.
Car goes on the ramp and a while later Mike comes into the waiting room with that slight shake of the head and that “Oh dear, who’s-been-working-on-that” look so familiar from builders everywhere.
He explained that the original work probably did not need doing (‘but come and have a look yourself') – he was right – but that some work carried out previously to the exhaust of the car had been done in such a way as to be a breakdown waiting to happen (crushed wires from the Lambda sensors).
To be fair, this had been mentioned at the service but not the consequences of a short to earth for other engine functions on the same circuit.
He also investigated some corrections that had supposedly been applied to the ECU in the past. It turns out they simply had not been done.
Rather than just pointing out the difficulties though, Mike immediately offered remedies involving a fancy bit of metalwork and welding for the exhaust (none of which has been pre-arranged – he just got his blokes to do it) and the application of some BR software for the ECU.
The result is a car that shouldn’t breakdown (for that reason anyway) and substantially improved driveability – at a reasonable price.
All the BR stuff on here seems to be about performance but I’d certainly recommend their more conventional services.
Of course the bugger is while you’re there, you see all the other stuff……

Yep, I would never have a service r anything routine done anywhere else. You get the guys involved in the original design and build of the car doing the work rather than a chap who's been on a 4-day training course
They found and cured two VERY dangerous issues on my car; one with brakes, one with suspension, both left in that state by a previous independent. Be careful where you spend your money...
I couldn't get to BR this year as I'm very time poor at the moment, and given that it was my year 3 service and had a number of warranty items to attend to it went to my local dealer. No complaints on their work either... But I know what Yeti means, having BR work on your car you know you're getting the very best.
Your P&J needs to be looked after by people who don't just see another piece of tin rolling in and aren't target incentivised...
BR really seem to care, and always seem to go the extra mile... If I'm lucky enough to still have my car next year it will be going back to BR for sure...
I'm not saying other indies aren't good too. But I never worry when my car is at BR....

Had a service, the addition of 2009 wing mirrors and a new steering wheel with added cruise controol added to my 2005 DB9 last year and once again had many items pointed out which were issues waiting to happen (none that had been mentioned by the Aston Martin dealership I purchased from the year before - though evidence suggested they existed at that time). Would defintely go back agian unfortunately I am only in the UK 40 days a year at the moment it will have te be a nearer dealer for this years standard service.
Long and Short of it is I would recommend to anyone.

All sounds pretty much par for the course to me. BR's knowledge and experience of our cars is second to none. They have recently completed project "Pearl" which means that I have now had 2 Astons enhanced by them. 3 days after her completion we embarked on the Alpine Tour which comprised of approximately 3000 miles, Bamford Mike was in touch everyday to check all was okay. How about that for a caring service? No problems were reported!

ksed up a job and tried to rip me off, I'd want to publicise that too.
