Inspired by LOH's recent thread on the Mini GP and R26R, it's got me thinking, what other cars are similarly 'special' being limited/rare/homologations etc that have everyday usability? An arbitrary £10k budget applies..

Mk1Focus RS
RS2
Ford Racing Puma??

The obvious is too obvious...

The sort of car that you would see in a car park and drive around the block for another look smile

Lancia intergrale, 4wd so stunning even in hellish weather, looks stunning, kooky and characterful, great history, brilliant to drive really really quick too.

Don't get me wrong I have a soft spot for the R26.R but,

How is the R26R useable? its got no rear seats, toyo r888's so not so hot in the wet (although that's a debated issue) might as well have an mid engined car if you don't have rear seats. - Will look up LOH's thread to read the reasons.

Ahhh.. frown

I was going to be pretty interested in this thread and I'd like an affordable 'special' car for my next chariot. However those mentioned don't strike me as being affordable - they might be under £10k to buy but the running costs are a bit steep for me!

My thoughts would be around

- Fiat Panda 100 HP
- Nissan Micra DIG-S done up as a bit of a GTI editiion
- Renault Twingo GT

My integrale just about slipped under the 10k price when I bought it and was an excellent daily. (Now under resto)
Using a Lotus Elise now as the daily, excellent MPG. Boots really quite decent.
