Bike show at NEC anyone been before?

Off there on Sunday, with my 8yo, boys weekend away, Nandos Sat night, stay at Premier Inn and get there for door open, same as we do for Autosport. Father/son bonding time, make up for being away on a stupid course all week

Anyone been, whats it like, hoping to pick up some winter lights!

I went a couple of years ago, didn't really think much of it.

There's a few new shiny bikes to look at but very little for sale anywhere. Hopefully it's a bit better now than it was when I went.

I totted up the cost of paying for my wife and I to go. It came to just under £90, so we aren't going! Hope people enjoy it though

I've just booked a ticket for Sunday. Not been before, although I think I've been to one at London Excel that was The Outdoors Show, Cycle show and boat show all in one. Saw Danny Macaskill and his crew doing a demo ride.

It's £11.50 for a ticket, (with discount code) and a tenner for parking (which is a bit steep!) but even so, not bad for a day out!

Mind you, I've signed up for a demo ride - hopefully get to try out some Di2......so this could get expensive!

I normally go on Thursday for trade day so it's free and quite quiet.

It's ok, if you read the magazines and websites a lot of the new stuff you'll already be aware of but it's nice to see it in the flesh.

There isn't really anything to buy there, last year there were a few sunglasses stands and some watches!

You can test out a decent range of e-bikes and new this year is the crit test track where you book in and test Condor / Bianchi / Trek etc, you do need to book it and take your own shoes and pedals though.

Ok, so it wasn't quite Autosport, but a thoroghly nice day out, good Dad/son bonding stuff, had lovely time and decent value day out imo and found some nice bikes for my daughter too. Will certainly go again.

Only oddity was lack of big vendors, Evans, CRC and not many sellers of bike racks, bags etc. Doubt many people would have bought a 5k bike, but would have thought decent opportunity to sell bits and bobs.

Nice day though so thanks if you exhibited!
