I've started using bluetooth more, mainly due to Shadytree setting it up the other and sending me one COOL gif!

Anyways, the 6230 has a built in mp3 player thats currently just got the demo song on it. I want to add a few mp3s from my laptop.

Its a 15in apple powerbook 'without' bluetooth (to my knowledge).

Any ideas how to transfer a few songs over? I can't email them to my phone (i've emailed pics to myself before).

Cheers

Rico, you should be able to download the tranfer software from Nokia (I'm sure they do a Mac version).

Connection wise you need either a cable or IR (again, I'm sure the Mac has this as do most laptops).

edited to say, rats, PC only I'm afraid www.nokia.com/nokia/0,,53400,00.html

or alternatively, buy a bluetooth dongle..

I don't think they're that expensive, have a look on ebuyer, scan et al...

Good point, should be able to pick them up for about £30 or so, however, if you can't get the Nokia PC suite for Mac then its a bit of a non-starter.

Rico, give me a shout on msn, i was doing this all last week on my brothers 6230 with images and mp3's, easier to explain on msn, but you will need the bluetooth adapter for your powerbook if you dont already have one, i highly recommend the D-Link DTS120 (i think it is) at about £22

with the mac you need no additional software to send the files across bluetooth, just the software already on your mac.

..ah, having said that the 6230 accepts MMC cards (similar size to SD cards). Could be an option to get a MMC card reader for the Mac and simply copy the MP3's directly to the MMC card then put the card back in the phone.

Very true, my brother has ordered a larger mmc card to fit in his phone, looking forward to see how it works. the sound quality is very good though!

You don't actually need Nokia Suite to transfer files to and from the actual phone, it can be done with the Bluetooth/IR software on the laptop only. Haven't got the Nokia Suite on my work laptop but can transfer files no probs...

Really, thats good then, since the PC Suite really is a hatefull piece of shite. Nokia make great phones and firewall's but their UI sucks.!!
