Replacement hood for a 986 pre-facelift

Hi, Has any one experience of replacing the hood and frame of a 986 pre-facelift with the hood and frame from a face-lift 986? The rear screen plastic window has gone and i have the option to get a second hand hood and frame with the glass rear-window, but i just don't know whether it will fit. Does anyone know whether this is just a direct replacement? My car is 3.2s 2002 and the donor hood comes from a 2003 986.

I've done it (an '03 top and frame on my '02) and found this resource invaluable..

It's quite straightforward and the end result is well worth it (i.e. better than other solutions that keep the old frame).
The whole mechanism is attached to the car with 6 bolts. I found that two of these were tricky to get to but I got there and did it as a one man job. An extra pair of hands would no doubt have made it a quicker job.

Many Many Thanks for the quick response and the positive advice. I am apprehensive doing any work on the car, especially something as big as changing the hood, but i am going to have a go. I will post some before/after pictures of the car if i can locate a donor hood that i am happy with. Thanks again.
