Passenger door opens by itself!
Discussion
Button on the dash stuck/sticking at a guess if you hear the solenoid firing. Won't open on the move due to the speed sensor which stops you opening the doors on the move (from the inside anyway).
If you can't hear the solenoid then check the emergency door release handle is pushed home.

I had a similar problem to yours in that the passenger door would open whilst moving or when stationary
This fault was due to a faulty passenger door ECU which had to be sent away for reconditioning.
That's what they told you!! What they actually done was " Load of WD40 on the door opening button. Rotate button like a mad thing. Button will unstick and your door will stay closed."

Did the WD40 work?
I have had a similar problem where the passenger door pops open on the move. It's only done it twice in 2 years, both times coming back up the M5 from Cornwall, so both times on a long run on a hot day.
Not wanting to hijack, but I have another problem now in that the drivers door won't open once it has been locked. Push the button and nothing. I can only get in from the passenger side.
However, when unlocked it opens and closes fine both from the inside and outside. I've put WD40 on the buttons to check they are not sticking, and checked the emergency releases. Anyone have any other suggestions?

Do you mean you have to lock it and unlock it before the door will open?
No, once it is locked it won't open at all with the door mirror button on the drivers side. I have to enter via the passenger side and pull the manual release. However once I have done this, it will open and close using the door mirror button and/or interior button with no problem

Another possible cause of your problem could be the Drivers Door ECU. Try swapping the driver door ECU with the passenger door ECU and see if the problem transfers to the passenger door. The door ECU's are situated in the drivers footwell. It maybe that your door ECU needs to be reconditioned. When I had my Drivers door opening whilst on the move issue, I swapped the door ECU's over and the problem transferred to the passenger door. So I kept the working door ECU in the drivers door so I could still access the car to drive, and sent the faulty door ECU away for reconditioning. Problem is that the passenger door ECU also controls the boot lid release, which ment that I couldn't open the boot to fill up with petrol, whilst the faulty door ECU was being repaired. Had to resort to an alternate method of getting into the boot

It was a sticky button and WD40 fixed it.....
Now I have another door problems the drivers window stays down and only goes up (slowly) when the car is locked. I tried freeing the buttons in case it was the same issue but it doesn't seem to be. Suggestions?
Dry cables on the window mechanism in the door? Re-greased mine and windows silky smooth now.Now I have another door problems the drivers window stays down and only goes up (slowly) when the car is locked. Method - door card off, locate top end of cable sheath, spray in lithium grease, wind window up and down (remembering window will only go up with door shut), repeat until silky smooth
Talking of which (just to be sure)' when you say window won't go up, do you have the door shut?! :-)
