What tyres - slightly odd size
Discussion
2003 Honda CRV. OEM Bridgestone Duelers are ok, but not the best, so I want to try something different.
Size is 215 / 65 / 16 , which seems to be an odd one - online tyre searches suggest a lot of what are described as "van" tyres as well as various radials. They seem to be significantly cheaper than "car" tyre alternatives, c. £30/corner in some cases.
I am utterly ignorant as to the differences between car and van tyres. I assume it's not just marketing and there are construction differences (van tyres more geared to durability and high-load vs outright grip/feedback?). The cost saving is significant enough to me to be worth considering, so the question is - do I want to fit van tyres to my soft-roader? It's the family barge, not driven for larfs, so safety and performance in poor conditions are paramount.
Cheers for any advice.
