aaargh ! ive got the up n down problem ! (story of my life)! My nearside headlight, was moving up and down rather slower than its opposite number now its conked out totally ! will it be the motor ? if so what is the motor from ? part number ? have found the winder ! so at least i can drive at night ! but any info for a permanent fix would be great ?!?!?! thanks for your help !

It's a TR7 unit.

Try Rimmer Bros. or there may be something in the PH classifieds.

I dont recall them being very dear (usually exchange units) just make sure you specify the one with the correct connnector type (there are two).

ok ! its getting worse ! on the way back from bournemouth today it was getting overcast & most cars had the'yre lights on, so hey i thought id try mine........... mistake the same one didnt work at all (as expected) ! but the other, the other one decided to go up & down, up & down, up & down totally on its own ! am starting to get a lil frustrated ! Apart from main dealers is there anyone in dorset that i can take my lil baby to, to get these problems sorted out ?

Had this problem on mine and it was the switch block on the side of the motor. Water gets in a corrods the contacts. It's not that difficult to remove the motor and check these things. How handy are you with a spanner?

The light switch at the steering column was my source of the problem.

Did someone try to get rid of those annoying "sometimes up but generally down" headlights and replace them with new small diameter fixed ones ?
