I need an alternator for a 1991 3.9 RRC. It uses the V belt not the serp belt.

The only V belt alternators i can find are for the 3.5 engines and are 65 AMP.

Will this be enough, AMP wise ?

Just thought I’d ask as the earlier 3.5 cars didn’t have anywhere near the amount of electrics the later cars have.

Classics are pretty basic!
There are bigger alternators.
Have a look at this, click on 'Spare parts catalogue' then select the vehicle from the menu on the left.

What electrics do you have on your 3.9 that you couldn't get on a 3.5 EFI?

Mine went earlier in the year and this was the correct replacement for my 1993 3.9:

It's 100AMP.

Just spotted yours is a bit earlier than mine, but Rimmers will sort you out.
Having your chassis number to hand will help.

Not sure to be honest. It's just that in the early 90s the alternators changed from 65 amp ON THE 3.5 up to 100 / 120 amp?
I'm guessing electric seats, heated screen, additional lights ? Don't really know? I'm new tithe world of LR.

Edited to add: just bought a second hand alternator of another 3.9 of same year for cheep, at least I know it's the right one!
