I really like the idea of fitting spiders on my griff but dont want to go 18's. Do 16's look too small? Anyone got a pic of 16's fitted?
Other option is a very similar looking wheel preferably 4x108 fitting, any ideas any body?

If you are taking Estorils off the Griff I will happily take them off your hands!

This is mine (pic nicked of James Agger's site)

Obviously it's a personal thing, but I've had a few comments that the 16's make it look a little under-wheeled. Some days I'm inclined to agree smile

better off putting slightly bigger profile tyres or wider with same profile on the back , 18's will need rubber bands rather than tyres.

I think RL 7's would look awesome on a Griff!

the guys ive heard with 18 almost always say the ride is stiff and tramline..not everyone, but most.

I noticed going from 15 to 17 fronts an increase in tram lining.

id stay at 16 on the griff or 17 rears, 16 fronts (which precludes the spiders i know).

if i could find a pair of 16 rl7 fronts, id probably swap off the 17 rl7 fronts i have.

For me, the 16's look more like old 'minilite' wheels and not very 'spidery' getmecoat
18" spiders look the bks but, as I've learned from experience [I 'av 'em] do not exactly enhance the driving experience. Now I reckon 17" spiders all round would be spot on but there aren't any and I searched for a long time to find something similar.

Hallo from germany,

i´ve just changed from 18´spiders to 16´spiders this spring.

For my opinion the Griff handels much better with the smaller wheels
and stops to follow every corrugations and lane grooves on bad roads.

I´ve lowered the body a little bit, so the tires are filling the wheel arch much better

Cheers Tom [url][img]

those two blue pics show the problem so well, thanks for posting them. Someone needs to make spiders in 17inch for the rears biggrin

Have a look on TVR parts and plates classifieds, I have a new boxed set for sale Team dynamics Pro race 1.2 same as the SP12`s. They are proper light weight wheels with the correct offsets .

Decided the colour does not suit my car and it`s to expensive to get them painted. They are new and have the receipts.

The rear ones cost £180 each .

I would fit 245/40/17 and 215/40/17`s you can fit a 255 on the 9j rim .. I know there are no problems under a Griff rear arch .

I have a resident spider in my offside wing mirror. He's called 'Harry'.

Does that help ?

These would look very nice on a Griff especially in a bright colour.
