Hunting around for the C63 that I want, I've ended up choosing between two cars, but if I wait until I can have a look at the car up North, I'll have to pass on the deal down South.

The car down here is pretty much the spec I'd asked for, in Diamond White, but it doesn't have the carbon fibte interior that I was after. There's a car available with the carbon up North, in Tenorite Grey, but I'm having a hard job telling from photographs just how dark this is.

If it's the same as daytona Grey Metallic from Audi, then it's great, if it's just off-black, then I'm not so keen. I knnow that I should try to get to see it, but that may well not be an option before I head away on holiday, in which case I'd either have to buy blind, or go for the diamond white one down here.

So, can anyone offer either any well-lit representative photographs, or an informed opinion about how it looks in the flesh?

Thanks

GTIR

I had an 07 E220 in Flint grey and tenorite is darker, to the point it wasn't grey but more black - if that makes sense.

I'd say Daytona Audi grey is more like Flint grey and tenorite grey is more like monsoon audi grey. However, I am just going on google images.

Thanks. Flint grey doesn't seem to be listed now, so maybe Palladium silver is the closest equivalent.

This is my old car now up for sale, gives a good indicator of Tenorite on a dull day. In bright sun a bluish tinge appears.

It is nowhere near black and I would say similar to Audi Daytona Grey.

I have sold it and am in now way affiliated with the guy selling it.

Tenorite grey is a very dark grey, but not mistakeable for black.
I've had 2 in tenorite, and had it been available on the current range as a standard colour, I would conutinue having it. They look great in tenorite.

Thanks alll. It does look nice in that colour, but I think that I'm going to go for a white one.

The tough decision now is polar whiite with Harman Kardon, or Diamond White without...

IMHO ensure you have the Harmon Kardon - I know the engine sound is the accompaniment of choice but you can't always be driving fast enough to have that benefit and it is a cracking sound system!

I don't have the choice on a pre-specified car, sadly, unless I go for matt polar white, which I don't want to do.

Polar white isn't Matt, it's actually a fair bit brighter than diamond, it's similar to the Audi White.

I thought you said you had to choose between Polar White with HK or Diamond White without ???

If you haven't got a choice then don't bother asking banghead

Sorry, I mean I don't have the choice of taking the stereo if I insist on the colour.

Ah, just the man....

I've a hard choice to make overnight then, haven't I? Are you interested in offering me some guidance, without getting upset if I end up going the other way?

Fair enough - just enjoy what you end up getting and don't get too hung up on the spec. Good luck.

If you want a white car I can say you won't go wrong with polar white - that's what I have and it looks great IMO. It is a touch more brighter white than the BMW alpine white. Plus I would agree that HK is a must have.

Personally I prefer them in white, they look good against the all the black on the car, I also think Polar looks a lot fresher than the diamond white - but tenorite is a good colour, it's just not very 'stand out' if you know what I mean. Colour is a very personal thing though.

I can probably get you the tenorite car if you decide on that one. It's a lot of money for some carbon bits though!

No, the choice will be between diamond white without the HK, and Polar with it, and I think that I'll go for the diamond. The standard stereo, I'd hope, will still be decent, and I really do love a car with a special colour. My RS4 was Daytona grey, which I loved, my 911 GTS was "metallic" black, which was jus awful, and it spoiled the whole ownership experience.

I'm assuming that if I specced a car from the factory, exactly to taste, that it'd end up costing me more, and giving me a long wait?

Also, there is the precise spec I'd now ant (diamond, HK, black wheels etc), available from Newcastle, new, unregistered. I assume that you have a different set of available stock to them (I.e.theirs is already in the sytner network)?

I'll have to mull over this in the few hours before I'm back at work. I'd assumed I would choose diamond, but others seem to rate the HK stereo very highly...

I'll have a look this morning to see if I can find their car - the polar with HK I would be swapping in from a mate who runs a sytner dealer, the diamond without is in our group somewhere.
