Dundee area to live?
Discussion
My daughter has just been offered a job, as a Clinical Photographer, at Ninewells Hospital in Dundee and so has to relocate up there pretty quickly.
Can anyone up there suggest suitable places to rent a room or bedsit, or maybe flat, nearby please?
She has a car but somewhere nearby might be better.
And - She's 27 single and no photos!

I have an empty flat just up the road from Ninewells, if you google search 'Clement Park Place Dundee' its a converted mansion house that was turned into flats in 2009. It has 2 bedrooms, one is furnished and the lounge has a large sofa, coffee table etc. It's not far from the hospital and has two allocated parking spaces. How long is she needing a place? I only use it when back from my work in the Middle East. If she is stuck could maybe help out.
Thanks all.
It's a new job and she's moving up from Lincolnshire and starting work on 7th October.
As for how long, well it should be ongoing assuming that she's happy there and that all goes well.
Cheers Adam, I'll pass this all on to her.

An ex used to stay in flats on Elm street that were fairly nice.
Perth road, Blackness Road area but I wouldn't rent much further east than Elm street
yup, agree here!Perth road, Blackness Road area but I wouldn't rent much further east than Elm street
But then I live on "the Blackie"

Problem is, much of this area's rental market is bolstered by the unis, pushing up the prices.
Happy to advise on anything specific she sees.
I think that she may have found a temporary room to let in Tay Street, whilst she settles in to the new job and discovers the delights of Dundee.
It looks nice on the photos and the couple there sound okay.
It'll be okay for a short while hopefully.
I've passed on all of these messages, so she may be in touch if you don't mind.

She could also go west to Longforgan but there won't be much nightlife to talk about. As others have said parking round Ninewells is a mare. It's also on a very steep hill so cycling will be a challenge if she is not fit. I would go for Perth Road as it has the least concentration of Dundonians ( I can say that, for I am one)
