Folks
I have my Silver Chimaera booked in for a front light conversion at Webb's in Bristol next week but suddenley felt this afternoon a feeling of 'am I doing the right thing?' I know this is all about personal taste but can anyone post some pictures of their converted Chimaera so I can convince myself that I AM doing the right thing!!!!!

have a look at Jon's car on the http://go.to/tvrbristol members section. I live near Jon and have seen this car in the flesh a few times and it looks the dog's dangles.

Are you doing the right thing?

If you are going to keep the car for a long time. It's then personal aesthetic preference.

Resale will be trickier, 'most' people prefer standard.

Got talking to a bloke in the ferry queue for Le Mans about his Chim which was done by Webbs so he told me. Very nice job they made of it too. If you're gonna do it, then I'd get the white indicators and side repeaters too as that finished it off nicely.

Personal preference really – I don't mind either.

Don't hesitate - if they put them in the same place as Jon's (just kidding!) they look absolutely stunning. I'm in the process of buying a Chim and it wouldn't put me off although I'm sure there are some that would always seek an original rather than a hybrid.

Hi cutmonster

I've just joined but there should be some pictures of my conversion (if only in primer) up here within the next couple of days . I've got the Zertec S12 units, I think they're a real improvement but I probably had an easier choice than you (see my profile)

ouch, I see why you had the lights "fixed".

Cutmonster, I had one of the first zertec conversions done when I had my Griffith. I loved it and the beam was much better.

It was harder to sell though and also after about a year there was a certain amount of "sinkage" whereby you could see a faint line under the fibreglass of where the old pods were.

I had the conversion done in Feb 'cos I needed a front
end respray anyway. Ditto the sentiments about having the clear indicators fitted at the same time. They also threw in doing my mirrors too. I think mine is the Ruby Chimaera 500 on the page at

Hover the cursor over each picture and you'll get before and after shots.

Ahhhh. I just don't lknow. Thanks for the posts guys. Jason Webb (he of Webb's ownership) is sending me some photos before I take the Chimp in next Monday. I may bottle it and just go for the respray...
...I will let you know!
Thanks again folks
