Afternoon all,

Just over a year ago my wife and I moved into a Grade II listed cottage out in the sticks and partly because getting Sky fitted to such a property is a proper ball-ache and partly because we also became first-time parents 9 days later so had a need to save some cash, we dropped our Sky subscription and have been relying on freeview.

However, bored by the continual stream of repeats on Dave and by the whining noise coming from the other side of the living room I'm starting to consider what else is available. TV is not a big part of my life so I'm not terribly au fait with the options and I wondered if anyone had any ideas.

As we're in the sticks, there's no cable and in terms of internet connection we don't have fibre optic so our download speed is only about 2.33MB and as a result we've never really got into iPlayer etc. We're currently with BT.

What I'd like is a bit more choice, access to some sport (would keep me out of the pub) and the odd film- is that possible?

I'm a tech numpty so treat me gently.

Cheers

BT TV or BT Vision or whatever they call themselves might be an option.

Its basically freeview + optional premium channels (BT sport, sky sports etc) + On demand stuff via your broadband.
The FAQS claim you need a minimum speed of 2 meg so you might just be OK

stick a sky dish on the end of a pole, set said pole into a plant-pot full of concrete?
