Breakdown cover ?

Had the Tuscan about 4 months now (many smiles). I have never had breakdown cover on any car before (usually Mazda etc)
The TUSCAN is great no problems at all, but you never know !
To get to the point, can anyone recommend a particular cover or organization and likely cost ? Should I go with AA, RAC Green Flag etc ?

Use AA myself. Had them out a couple of times, just little things and have no issues or complaints.
I got their warranty type thing also. 50 quid a year and they will cover 3 claims of 500 quid for anything they can't fix.
Hopefully don't have to use it but it would cover the cost of slave cylinder or something like that if it needed done.

I'm with the AA. It covers you whether driving or are a passenger in any car because you are the person covered not your car.
I've also taken out an extra policy with the AA which covers your car being taken to the nearest suitable garage if the patrolman is able to diagnose the problem but cannot fix it at the roadside. The cost of parts/labour is covered up to a maximum of £500 any one claim, 3 times a year. It's about £50 per year.

me too.
I was covered with the AA and had all the MOD cons, homestart, national recovery, courtesy car etc. Also had the parts and labour warranty but paid £100 rather than £50 and was covered for 3 claims upto £1000 instead of £500.
Ive just got breakdown cover with Green Flag as part of my Barclays additions account which offers all the benefits of the AA cover with the exception of the parts and labour warranty. Might be worth looking at?

I'm amazed at the prices people pay for this!!! 
I gave up on AA (dislike of being the baton
in their Relay), RAC (good service but too expensive 
), Green Flag and others (too expensive on multiple cars 
) etc.
I use Norwich Union Rescue (NU Direct also insure all my cars) and they provided full personal cover for 2 people in ANY car for a tad more than £55 (the price is based on the youngest car). Euro cover was an extra £21 for a year when we did Spa and the Ring. Oh, and I had to use their services before arriving at the Dover ferryport as the battery collapsed overnight which also st***ed the immobiliser. Their service was just the best I've experienced.
BTW, I do not work for NU!! Its just a great and reasonably priced service.

Get cover as part of my Bank account, doesn't matter what car as long as I'm with it so multiple cars don't pose a problem for me.. they use Greenflag as their partner for this and it includes European cover.. you pay £12 per month for the "additions" account but you do get all sorts of other useful benefits including travel insurance so makes it worth it IMHO.. Have also had the need to use it when the other halfs Golf went pop and the service was very good.

I have a feeling it was £140 before I got it down to £120 for having a civil servant in the family. Thats why i have quoted £130 as Im not 100% sure. But you get the idea!
That cover is the works too. The top level of cover. When the alternator broke in France they paid for our accomodation for 4 days. And the pay TV channels too!

Adam.. Just checking as my cover worked out at £97 for the TVR(main), Escort and Joely's Rover... with Europe and personal cover...Gold service etc...
I've never used it but good to hear their service is top quality...

A word of advice when getting quotes over the phone, don't accept the first price they offer as there's a whole host of discounts available to everyone.
I'm with the RAC and when I told them their quote was too expensive, the kind lady said "did you say you worked for a large organisation"? Er....yes! Price dropped by 15 quid.
I also managed to get free recovery added when they mucked up my renewal
Mine is £90 something a year with homestart covering the Mrs too, service has been good on the one occasion I called them

Seriouisly, I'm with the AA, and apart from one occasion when they refused to take the car to where i wanted it repairing (APM) they have been great. Moral of the story is that you have to be x amount of miles away from your home for them to relay you to a garage of your choice, else it's the nearest garage!!.
